Présent >< Futur goes against the grain of a contemporary world accustomed to imposing a tempo presto. Under a single title, this new program brings together an exhibition and a book, retracing paths that are already well underway. For the designers invited to exhibit at the Cité du design de Saint-Étienne, it offers a break from the present moment to unfold the projects undertaken, make them visible and legible, look at them better to share them better.
Guillaume Bloget is a freelance designer based in Paris. He graduated from ENSCI-Les Ateliers with honors in 2016. After working for designer Marc Berthier and architect Dominique Perrault, he founded his industrial design studio in 2018. His work aims to establish economical relationships between materials, technology and uses. He seeks fluidity in the convergence of gestures to achieve form. He develops this approach in collaborations with industrial and craft companies such as Hermès, Ligne-Roset, Nemo, Maison Richard and Oros. In 2016, he co-founded Collections Typologie, a collective with which he explores the history and manufacture of everyday objects. In 2020, the Vitra Design Museum (Weil-am-Rhein, Germany) is devoting an exhibition to their research.
